Privacy Policy for the ItemIQ browser extension
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Overview
The ItemIQ browser extension ("ItemIQ – Whatnot, eBay Live & closet") is a companion to the ItemIQ service for teams that sell on Whatnot, eBay Live and TikTok Shop. It is used by people who already have an ItemIQ account through their organization. This policy explains what the extension reads, what it sends to ItemIQ, and what it does not do. The ItemIQ Privacy Policy covers the ItemIQ service as a whole.
What the extension handles
- Your ItemIQ sign-in. The email and password you enter are sent to Google Firebase Authentication to sign you in. The extension keeps the resulting sign-in tokens, your organization, and your settings in the browser's local extension storage so you stay signed in.
- Your organization's catalog. The closet in the popup loads your organization's product photos and SKUs from ItemIQ.
- Live show pages (Whatnot, eBay Live, TikTok), when you turn tracking on. The extension reads what is shown on the live page you are hosting: the item on screen and its SKU, viewer count, timer and bid, sold lots and their prices, giveaway entries, and viewer chat (the commenter's public username, avatar and message). It sends these to your organization's ItemIQ Host View.
- SKU text you select, when PP&S highlight is on. Text you highlight on a supported page, type into a search field, or click in a Google Sheets cell is sent to ItemIQ so the matching product photos appear on the pack station screen you chose.
- Whatnot Seller Hub shipments, for organizations with the shipping match enabled. While a signed-in teammate has Whatnot Seller Hub open, the extension requests that seller account's own shipments from inside the logged-in tab and sends ItemIQ the shipment and order numbers, listing titles, the buyer's Whatnot username, order amount, show name, shipment status, carrier and tracking number. It does not send buyer street addresses, phone numbers or email addresses. To make these requests it reuses the sign-in details the Seller Hub page already sends to Whatnot; those stay in the Whatnot tab and are never sent to ItemIQ or stored. The extension does not generate labels, change shipments or message buyers. For organizations without this feature it reads nothing from Seller Hub.
How the information is used
- To show hosts and pack-and-ship crew the right product, pricing context and live show activity.
- To match a scanned item to its marketplace order, link to where its shipping label is generated, and record it as shipped or sold in your organization's ItemIQ data.
- To keep you signed in and remember your settings.
Information is used only to provide these features to your organization. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Where it goes
Data is sent over HTTPS to ItemIQ's backend, which runs on Google Firebase / Google Cloud, and is visible to members of your ItemIQ organization. It is not shared with other organizations. We share information with third parties only as described in the ItemIQ Privacy Policy: with service providers that run our infrastructure, or when the law requires it.
What the extension does not do
- It does not run on websites other than the ones listed in its permissions (ItemIQ, Whatnot, eBay, TikTok / TikTok Shop and Google Sheets).
- It does not read your browsing history, passwords for other sites, or payment details.
- It does not post, bid, buy, message or change anything on a marketplace on your behalf.
- It does not load or run code from outside the extension package.
Your choices
- Live show tracking and PP&S highlight are off until you turn them on in the popup, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Signing out of the extension stops everything it sends. Removing the extension deletes what it stored in your browser.
- To ask for data held in ItemIQ to be corrected or deleted, contact us or your organization's ItemIQ administrator.
Children's Privacy
This extension is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
